LESSON 5

MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION

The left over lasagna!

Ok so you have a film now, what are you going to do with it? Here is where that other $5,000 dollars is going to come into play. You are going to need to pay for a few things in order to get your film ready for distribution depending on the type of distribution you are going for; such as your deliverables, distribution fees if you plan on submitting to Netflix, Hulu, and iTunes, some pay per click advertising and marketing materials.

Unless you are lucky enough to land an amazing studio strait sale then you are going to have to do a lot of the leg work yourself in order to get your film out there. I highly recommend you check out all the links and videos I have provided in order to school yourself on the massive amount of work it takes to market and distribute your film DIY style! But I believe in you!

DELIVERABLES

What you want, baby we got it!

The First Things first you need to compile all your deliverables and your DCP. Deliverables are everything that a distributer is going to need in order to purchase your film. This includes everything form errors and omissions insurance, music rights, trailer, signed contracts, press kit, posters, stills, specific audio and video files, and a bunch of quality control issues, etc… if your lucky and your film is a hit, distributers may pay for some of the deliverables, but it cant hurt to have them ready! All in about $5,000 dollars so know what you’ll need.
